There are more apps out there, often with more niche audiences, that also support dark mode. This is done in the System Preferences > General. For example, in Dark Mode the menu bar at the top of the Mac UI is no longer white with black text. Starting in version 2.9 and macOS 10.14 Mojave, Dark Mode can be enabled. There are extensions, like Dark Reader for Chrome, and Dark Mode for Safari, that turn the white content of the web into black or dark grey. In macOS Mojave in Dark Mode, dark colors are used in place of light colors in the user interface.

As you may have heard, Mail Designer 365, our email newsletter design tool for macOS, will also sport a fresh Dark Mode UI in our upcoming update for macOS Mojave. 34 Users can choose dark or light mode when installing Mojave, or any time thereafter from System Preferences. In macOS Mojave, Apple has added Dark Mode and updated all the system apps to support it, including Apple Mail. Although this can be useful when reading long pieces of text, staring at all that white when not reading text can be tiring, especially at night. Mojave introduces 'Dark Mode', a Light-on-dark color scheme that darkens the user interface to make content stand out while the interface recedes. Again halfway down the pop-up menu, there’s an option to toggle on “Night Mode.” The actual internetĮven if you’ve managed to darken just about every piece of software on your computer, most users spend a large part of their time on the web, and most of what’s on there is still blindingly white. Similar to YouTube, click on your profile avatar at the top-right of the page. Turn it on to watch videos under the comfort of darkness.
