The Shredder's first appearance was in Rise of the Turtles, as Master Splinter explained to Leonardo about his first failure, telling about his history with the Shredder. He also employed Xever Montes, impressed by his skills when he tried to steal Shredder's suitcase. he also has trained Chris Bradford, who then became a top member of the Foot Clan and a world-famous martial artist. He also was in partnership with weapons dealer Ivan Sterenko, who supplied him weapons for 10 years before the events of the season.
Shredder then has trained Miwa, renaming her Karai as a ninja and fed her many lies about who her true heritage is, just like what Yuuta did to him, and that Yoshi killed her mother, which Karai believed and had a disdain on Splinter due to this. It is also hinted that Shredder killed Hamato Yuuta off-screen (for killing his birth father, Oroku Keiji). He then takes Miwa away where he restarts the Foot Clan under a new moniker: The Shredder. Though he attempts to save Shen's body, a piece of burning debris hits Saki, giving him the face burn as a reminder of the tragic day. When Shen renters the dojo to prevent further harm, Oroku Saki tries to commit a fatal slash on Yoshi, but Shen steps in the way to prevent a murder between two brothers, killing her instead accidentally, shocking even him. Armed with two claw gauntlets, Saki attacks the couple out of rejection and insanity, refusing to stop his merciless attack on Yoshi from the conflicts he's fought overtime, which knocked some candles but and burned the dojo down. Desiring revenge, he torches a shrine and declares the Foot Clan's rise once more his first target is none other than his former "brother" Hamato Yoshi. Out of a lust for vengeance and finding out the truth about his heritage, Saki offscreen drills several Hamato Clan ninjas of the clan's ignorance. Despite Yuuta's attempts of calming the two, jealousy and bitterness harms Yoshi and Saki's friendship even further. The tenderness of Saki is seen by Yoshi when dueling with Saki again, Yoshi fights angrily, demanding to know of the discussion between his wife and "brother". Oroku reveals to Shen of overhearing an earlier conversation between her and Yoshi of the latter's refusal to move to New York and is willing to fill Yoshi's role, claiming to be a changed man before softly kissing her forehead. Later at night, Saki protects Shen and her daughter Miwa when the Turtles foolishly behave which causes Miwa to cry. Knocking him down, Yoshi offers a hand to his friend only for Saki to bitterly reject the kind gesture (cruelly hurting Yoshi's feelings). The two "brothers" then combat one another in sparring the duel turns intense over the mentioning of Tang Shen, with Saki claiming his friend doesn't love her.
Saki goes to the dojo to explain to Hamato Yuuta of his encounter, only to be dismissed by an arrogant Hamato Yoshi. Yoshi stopped Saki with a violent attack that left him limping away, and since that day, Yoshi and Saki's rivalry became a bond of hatred.Īs revealed in "Tale of the Yokai", a young Oroku Saki helps some other members of the Hamato Clan when the Turtles (who were ended up in said time period by fate itself to rescue Splinter from the flames) battled them, referring to them as yokai, ancient Japanese monsters before Michelangelo throws a smoke bomb to escape. Since Tang Shen was in love with Yoshi, Saki was overcome with jealousy, so he approached the two one day, and pointed out many harsh and violent words at Yoshi, insulting him to the point of uncontrollable rage. In their adulthood, Shen eventually chose Yoshi and married him. It worsened when they had a crush on Tang Shen and competed for her love. Saki and Yoshi then became rivals like most brothers are and got competitive. However, despite the happiness Saki and Yoshi had, he was a troubled kid, getting visions of the world in flames. Out of sympathy, he took Saki in as his adoptive son and raised him and his biological son, Hamato Yoshi, as brothers. During the long war between the Foot and the Hamato Clans, Hamato Yuuta, the leader of the rival clan, kill Keiji. Shredder was the son of the leader of the Foot Clan, Oroku Keiji.
